What is this vigil for?
We are creating a community altar that is both public and sacred, a space where traditional hoodoo candles are burned for economic justice, social justice, human rights, and the protection of our ancestral traditions.
How does it work?
This altar is public in the sense that anyone can support it, but it remains a space of respect, not access. Donations go toward maintaining the vigil and supporting real issues in the community. Those who contribute can name a cause or a person for whom a candle will be lit, ensuring that the focus stays on justice and community care.
